Guess who met Annie Sloan last weekend!
The Painters & Makers market at the iconic Meat Market building in North Melbourne was an absolute hub of creativity. Lots of exhibits, lots of workshops with Annie Sloan and Jonathan Marc Mendes. If you've ever seen his videos on Youtube, he's just as personable in the flesh. It was a wonderful time for sharing ideas, meeting other stockists and learning new techniques from the best talent of our time.

The great news is that Somewhere in the Sunshine is now able to offer lots of new workshops. There's Faded Grandeur, Marbling, Verdigris, stamping fabric, material dyeing.
There's lots of news to tell you....for one - she has created 3 new colours! They aren't available yet, but they are showcased in her new Bookazine (not a magazine - not a book) which will be available here soon. Annie has also created new fabrics!! The ones you may have seen on her website that we were selling were not her designs - they were an endorsed design and offered because she loves fabrics. Her new fabrics will also be available soon.
It was wonderful to hear all the news. Every new thing is being shipped to Australia as we speak....
but it's sooooo hard to wait!

This is my youngest student ever, 9 year old Briahana, with Heidi at our Basic Skills workshop on Saturday. Never too young or too old to learn something new. Don't their pieces look wonderful! Just goes to show how easy it is to use chalk paint :)
Our next Basic Skills workshop is on November 23rd. I know December is a busy social time for us all and I am putting the date out there as a offering for those who would like to get some things painted before Christmas. I will do workshops by appointment, so if you find a day you can get to Tyalgum, give me a call - otherwise that's the last one for the year. The new workshops will start in the New Year.
ZZZ Newsflash! ZZZ
Paint is on special!!
From now until December 31st you can buy 4  large tins of paint and get the 5th one free! That's a saving of $60!! Get in quick to get the colours you need. Stocks of Old White and Pure White are limited so get your paint now, before it all sells out.
