Annie Sloan to the Rescue!

Hasn't it been amazing/quiet/scary and wonderful all at the same time? So many of you have been asking about what colours are trending at the moment so that you can get on with uplifting your spaces before we all have to face the music again...hopefully with our houses cleaned from top to bottom and projects a-flowing...
I have some photos that I thought you might like to see. These girls have been up-doing their kitchens with a gusto, using AS Chalk aint and the Clear Gloss lacquer.

What a transformation! Meri and her daughter did this in a day, with an island bench in Graphite to follow.  Natural wood on top, Original on the cupboards. Well done!
This cottage kitchen has had a total facelift. Svenska Blue and Old White changed this beauty into farmhouse elegance! I like that the Clear Gloss lacquer isn't too glossy, but gives an easy polished look that's easy to clean. Beautiful!
I love this - very classy. Graphite is a beautiful neutral that sets off any decor - vintage or industrial; it fills the space elegantly.
So there are a few ideas to inspire your next project. Just a reminder, there are lots of Annie Sloan Facebook pages/groups you can join to see what other painters are doing. Annie Sloan Australian Painters Hub is a good place to start if you haven't put them on your radar yet. It's run by two talented girls from Shed Eleven - check it out.
Just letting you know, the Pearlescent Glaze is in stock - $25 a can. You can paint over colours to give it the Mother-of-Pearl look or mix it with a dab of colour to pearlescent your paint. Either way, it's very exciting! It acts like a lacquer, so no need to wax or lacquer over it. Put it on the must-try list! I also have a few copies of the 4th Colourist Bookazine, $20. Jam-packed with Annie's inspiration. And.... I've been working on the website, so check it out - somewhereinthesunshine.com  It's operational and has lots of the IOD stock added. I've made a new body rub in a heart-shaped tin - Vanilla Daisy. Organic Coconut oil, Macadamia Oil, Beeswax and a good dollop of Vanilla. It's scrumptiously yummy smelling and a perfect small gift for Mother's Day. It's in the Mybeesknees section.

Whatever you're doing, make the most of the time left before the world rushes back in. Take care xx
